Claude Monet was born in Paris, France . Ten years later, Monet's family moved , a small town on the northern coast . His father, Adolphe, started a shop but Monet didn't want to work in it. He wanted to paint.
Monet went to school but he didn’t like it. He painted pictures . People laughed at them. He sold some paintings at the age . A year later, a painter called Eugene Boudin taught him painting landscapes.
In 1857, Monet's mother, Louise, died. Monet went to the School of Fine Arts, a university . But he didn’t like it and he left. He had to join the army but he became very ill and left .
